How To Make It In America

So HBO is coming out with a new series called How To Make It In America. It's Mark Whalberg's (creator of entourage) new project so that by itself already means it will be awesome. It's about two guys in New York trying to 'make it' and become successful through a clothing line. What makes it 10000 times better is that, in the show, they have a friend named Domingo, who is played by Kid Cudi. I can already tell that Domingo will be the highlight of the show because from what I've seen so far, all he does hang out and throw fat parties. But it premiers this sunday (Feb 14th) on HBO and it should be pretty entertaining.

Here is one of the best scenes from my favorite movie of all time, Hook. If you haven't seen it, it follows Peter Pan's (Robin Williams) return to Neverland after being away and growing up. When he returns, he has forgotten all about his past and the lost boys train him to be the Pan that he used to be in order to defeat Captain Hook. This scene is the first time Peter really remembers his time at Neverland and shows his first signs of his old self. Rufio (asian dude with gnarly hair) has been my hero since I was little and still is. He becomes leader while Peter is gone and has the most trouble accepting that he is back.

I am a big shoe fan in case you didnt know. Basically the only styles I go for are retro sneakers and furry moccasins, so naturally, I love Jordans. Normally I only go for the retro-ed origionals of a couple styles, (1s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 11s) but the one jordan shoe excluded from the origional 23 models that has gained my respect is the Spiz'ike. The reason of this is that the Spiz'ike combines the 3s, 4s, and 5s and blends them into a beatiful home for your foot to enjoy itself. This colorway (which comes out on the 23rd) especially excites me because it combines the colorways from two of my favorite shoes ever. Basically the front half of the shoe follows the Jordan III Fire Red edition:

and even though I'll be counting down the days until these release, I probably won't get them because I will have spent all my money on food and movie tickets to Avatar.

At Lakeside, every student realizes that a moment of freedom is instead a moment wasted. Any free time hinders you from doing homework, college stuff, and extracurriculars. It's madness at this place and that is why our breaks, for the most part, are heaven.

I feel like its time to get some things off my chest. And with a great blog like the one we have, this is the perfect opportunity to share my opinions with the rest of the world.

First thing I need to say is that I hate GOODS. I feel the need to say this because many kids go there thinking that its the cool place to get new clothes and shoes to show off to their friends. I have to admit that I was once one of those kids, but no longer. First of all, have you ever talked to the people that work there? They are rude, inconsiderate, and overall not cool people who like to take advantage of all of the hypebeasts out there just to make a profit. Secondly, most of the kids that shop there are zombie consumers who think that anything there is awesome and therefore worth the insane prices they are sold at. Next, the stuff that GOODS has in store is getting worse and worse. There is the occa

sional limited release of a nice pair of nikes or something, but everything else is just name brands that have a history in streetwear culture, but the countless pair of obscure shoes in colors that almost induce seizures is too much. The clothes there are also overprices, played out, nike sb gear that only appeals to skateboard posers who don't know what their doing. Because of this, shoe and clothing fans of seattle, I suggest you grow a soul and join my disrespect towards the monster that is GOODS, and go shop at the many other great clothing stores of seattle.

The next thing that needs to be addressed is my guy Chip Tha Ripper. If music could be categorized like movies are (coldplay would be

drama, justin bieber would be chick flicks, etc.) Chip would definitely be comedy. He is good friends with one of my favorites Kid Cudi, and got his big break on the song Hyyerr on Cudi's first album. I've been following Chip for a very long time now, and his new mixtape just came out. He's about to blow up, so I just thought I'd let all of yall know.

The third thing I want to discuss is winter time. This is one of the greatest times of the year. The cold weather sucks, but when the snow comes down, its totally worth it. Everyone needs to go downtown, buy a peppermint mocha, and just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. Christmas day is never as good as the days leading up to it, so enjoy it now while you can.

The Blind Side Review

Hailing from across the globe, this ragtag group of young men is ready to beat all odds as they prepare for “Season 2: The Addition”. With the new addition of Senior Marcus Brandford, the squad roles in three deep with men ranging from a Japanese governor to a Swedish lacrosse recruit. Returning from last year’s success is 6’4”, 210 pound Sten Jernudd, our “Bad Cop”. He is just living life and trying to get by without dying from drama. He enjoys his coveted Ridgeline, high socks, and his lazy, nonchalant attitude. Another prized returner is Governor Johnny Krueger rolling in from the deep forests of Woodinville. This “Good Cop” spends most of his time being emotional and the rest talking to Marcus. He loves boxer briefs, cardigans, and trying to fix mistakes he has made. The newest member of our group is Marcus Brandford who is now being referred to as our “Street Cop”. He wastes hours on end trying to find the newest hip-hop and when he is done, he uses the rest of his life to beat Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on n64. He enjoys his Rav-4, a refreshing Green Tea, and playing soccer with his imaginary best friend, Sierra K. Get ready for a season that will test the limits of our friendship, Lakeside, and the world itself. We are the Love Police.
